KAVINSKY
Parisian Kavinsky appeared on the musical scene early 2006 with his now mythical 12″ ‘The Teddy Boy EP’, which gained him a worldwide renomee. His unique blending of vintage gore-movies score and up-to-date electronics, mixed together with intense comics aesthetics was an instant success. He now plays all around Europe, Australia and the USA; the video for his hit ‘Testarossa’ was seen on all MTVs worldwide. 2007 will see Kavinskys’ next two 12″ releases, before the full album which will be accompanied by the most accurate visuals and will reveal the keys of the intriguing history of his car crash, back in 1986.
ARTHUR KING
We don’t quite know if Arthur «King» Estienne is a graphic designer, a DJ, a music video director or all of the above. The good news is, neither does he.
As a DJ, Arthur King is known for crafting ingenuous mix-tapes blending everything from Classic Funk & Soul, Rock, Reggae, 80s classics and cheesy pop tracks in a Hip-Hop format. His much sought-after releases include «Gangsta Boogie», a smooth & sultry mix of original grooves sampled by gangsta rap’s best and «Pop Shit», a sugar-coated mix of 80s pop songs and Hip-Hop tracks, that both have enjoyed rave press reviews and heavy rotation at international hotspots ranging from NYC’s Turntable Lab to Colette in Paris.
